Deliveroo presents: The Grain of Life Exhibition

by Emily

Deliveroo believes food truly elicits emotions and memories, connecting the  unique moments with relationships, and creating the web of stories we call life. Along with our shared humanity,  eating unites us, the thing we all do every day in our own way. Food and eating are incredibly emotional  experiences, a creative act that connects us and creates memories.

To celebrate its 6th anniversary, Deliveroo will be hosting the “The Grain of Life Exhibition” at PMQ from 4 to 7  November 2021, where you can find profound yet relatable stories about rice and its effects on the daily lives of  Hong Kongers.

Concept of the “The Grain of Life Exhibition”

A single ingredient can create hundreds of dishes, and bond hundreds of connections. While rice is the most basic of ingredients, it is also the staple of every dining table in Hong Kong; equally, it is the metaphoric anchor to the cultural identity of its people. Inspired by this ingredient, Deliveroo has designed four thematic areas within the “The Grain of Life Exhibition” that promises to take you on a bespoke journey.

From the very origins of rice harvesting, to the hundreds of varieties that can be found today, each grain of rice, in whatever form it takes, is full of emotional connections and memories that resonate with the people who consume it. In the era of instant gratification and social media, we hope to compel every visitor to develop a genuine appreciation for food. Deliveroo is sourcing the greatest food dishes in the city, and bringing you emotional stories from the heart, linking each moment with culinary delicacies.
