Ashpectrum is more than just a jewelry brand—it’s a testament to passion, perseverance, and the power of dreams. Founded by Aisha Gul, a dedicated mompreneur, Ashpectrum was born out of a desire to create something meaningful while balancing the demands of motherhood and entrepreneurship. Each piece in the collection is designed to be both beautiful and empowering, reflecting the strength and grace of the modern woman. In this interview, Aisha shares her journey, inspirations, challenges, and the deeper meaning behind her creations.
1) What inspired you to start Ashpectrum, and what makes your jewelry unique?
Ashpectrum was born from my journey as a mompreneur. After becoming a mother, I knew I wanted to build something of my own—something that allowed me to work from home, be present for my kids, and still pursue my passion. I refused to choose between being a devoted mom and a successful entrepreneur, so I created a brand that lets me do both.
The name Ashpectrum is deeply personal. ‘Ash’ is short for my name, and ‘spectrum’ represents the limitless possibilities I believe in. To me, it’s a reminder that I am capable of anything—and I want my jewelry to inspire other women to feel the same.
What makes Ashpectrum unique is that it’s designed for real life. Every piece is waterproof, tarnish-free, hypoallergenic, and made to be as strong and enduring as the women who wear them. It’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling empowered in your everyday moments, no matter how busy life gets.
2) How do your travels and life experiences influence your jewelry designs?
Travel has always been a source of inspiration for me, but one of the most profound influences on my jewelry designs comes from the timeless elegance of ancient civilizations. I’ve always been fascinated by the opulence and power of Egyptian royalty—especially the legendary female pharaohs like Cleopatra and Hatshepsut, who redefined strength and grace in a male-dominated world.
Their stories of resilience, ambition, and regal beauty resonate deeply with me, and I channel that essence into my jewelry. Each piece is designed to make the modern woman feel like a queen—bold, confident, and adorned with gold that withstands the test of time, just like the legacies of these powerful women. My jewelry isn’t just an accessory; it’s a statement of empowerment, inspired by history and crafted for today’s unstoppable woman.

3) What has been the biggest challenge of running a jewelry business, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge has been doing everything myself. As a mom and entrepreneur, I wear every hat—designer, marketer, customer service representative, accountant, and more—all while being a full-time mom. It’s not easy balancing a growing business and raising kids, but I’ve learned to manage my time with discipline, prioritize what truly matters, and give myself grace when things aren’t perfect.
What keeps me going is knowing why I started: to build something meaningful for my family. The hard days come, but so do the rewarding ones—like seeing my business grow and knowing my kids are watching me chase my dreams while being present for them.
4) Can you share a memorable story behind one of your favorite pieces?
One of my favorite pieces is a bracelet engraved with the words Sabr, Shukr, and Tawakkul—which mean Patience, Gratitude, and Trust in Arabic. These words hold deep meaning for me, both as a mother and an entrepreneur.
When I started Ashpectrum, I faced so many challenges—balancing motherhood, running a business alone, and navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. There were moments of doubt, but I kept reminding myself to have Sabr (patience) through the struggles, Shukr (gratitude) for the blessings in every stage, and Tawakkul (trust) that everything would fall into place.
This bracelet is a reflection of that journey. Every time I wear it, it reminds me why I started and keeps me grounded. And when my customers tell me they wear it as a personal reminder of their own strength, it makes everything I do feel even more meaningful.

5) What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start their own creative business?
Just start. Don’t wait for the perfect moment because it doesn’t exist. As a mom, I could’ve let a million excuses stop me, but instead, I took small steps every day to build something that aligned with my life and values.
The journey won’t be easy, but if you’re passionate and committed, you’ll figure it out along the way. Be patient, be flexible, and trust yourself. You don’t need all the answers—you just need the courage to begin.
Stay true to your vision and don’t be afraid to tell your story. In the creative world, authenticity is your greatest asset.
Challenges will come, but if you build something with meaning, your brand will naturally attract the right audience. Focus on quality, consistency, and connection—whether that’s through your designs, storytelling, or how you engage with your customers. And most importantly, enjoy the journey! Success isn’t just in the destination; it’s in every lesson, every creation, and every person your work touches along the way.
