Since its last visit in 2013, Dutch artist Florentjin Hofman’s giant Rubber Duck has made a long-awaited return to the city across sky, land and sea, greeting everyone in Victoria Harbour before making its big debut at Ngong Ping 360 (NP360)!

From 13 June to 3 SeptemberNP360 presents “Double Ducks@Ngong Ping 360” featuring various attractions such as the “Flying Rubber Duck” cable cars, the Instagrammable “Bubble Bath-themed Cable Cars”, the “Gigantic Crystal Bathtub”, which is almost 2 metres high, and fantastic bathroom installations. With a total of 5,000 Rubber Ducks on site, guests can expect to experience joy and laughter.

Bubble Bath-themed Cable Cars Accompany Guests to Enjoy Beautiful Sea and Sky Scenery

To celebrate the return of the Rubber Duck to Hong Kong, NP360 has transformed two cable cars into “Flying Rubber Duck” cable cars for the first time. From 13 June to 25 June, passengers can snap a picture of these “Flying Rubber Duck” cable cars during their ride from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping! Additionally, lucky guests will have the chance to board the limited-time “Bubble Bath-themed Cable Cars” featuring Rubber Duck patterns and white bathroom aesthetics.

Debut at Ngong Ping Village Featuring a 2m-tall Photo Hotspot Gigantic Crystal Bathtub

Besides touring Victoria Harbour, the iconic Rubber Ducks also checked in earlier at The Big Buddha on Lantau Island and quickly became an internet sensation. With the help of more than 40 volunteers from the 360 Caring Team and The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (NAAC), a total of 5,000 Rubber Ducks were positioned along the stairs leading up to the Big Buddha, making an extraordinary sight and group photos. After visiting The Big Buddha, the 5,000 Rubber Ducks made their official appearance at Stupa Square, Ngong Ping Village, which has been transformed into a massive, storybook-style bathroom. To create a special visual effect that transports guests into an amazing world of comic, each object is outlined with rugged black lines. This outdoor bathroom features a variety of magnified bathroom goods, including toothbrushes and toothpaste that are over 2 meters tall, a gigantic bottle of body wash, and the most prominently at the center – a crystal-clear bathtub! Thousands of Ngong Ping exclusive Rubber Ducks swim together in a huge, approximately 4-meter-wide and 2-meter-tall transparent bathtub. Guests can take photos with the Rubber Ducks as if they were inside the bathtub. In addition, Fantastical bathroom installations have been set up in Ngong Ping Village, where guests can take photos with a life-sized bathtub filled with Rubber Ducks. Groups of Rubber Ducks also jump out of the bathtub to play around, making it a fun and enjoyable experience.

To Raise Funds for the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council

Riding on this large-scale public art exhibition, NP360 organises the “Rubber Duck Charity Sale” in partnership with NGO The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (NAAC) to share love and joy to underprivileged families. NP360 will host a charity sale for the first batch of 1,000 exclusive Ngong Ping Rubber Ducks to raise funds for The NAAC. Guests can purchase one Rubber Duck for HK$50[3] at Ngong Ping Village’s “Hong Kong Love souvenir shop”, and all proceeds will be donated to NAAC. Through this event, NP360 and NACC hope to raise awareness for NACC’s multi-faceted services in family, youth, elderly, rehabilitation, community development, education, and healthcare.
