HKB Artistic Director Septime Webre shares, ‘We all draw inspiration, courage and strength from narratives that elevate and illuminate our lives. We hope that this season, our performances will take you on an extraordinary journey, immersing you in the exhilarating, transcendent experience of ballet. We look forward to welcoming you to the theatre, where ideas and emotions will explode from the stage and pirouette into your heart.’

In July, Webre’s charming reimagining of Cinderella raised the curtain for International Arts Carnival and the new dance season. This fall, HKB and HK Phil will present the exciting world premiere of The Last Song by HKB’s Choreographer-in-Residence Hu Song Wei Ricky and Webre’s powerful masterpiece Carmina Burana. During the holidays, Webre’s much-anticipated The Nutcracker will return to bring festive cheer in an extravagant celebration of Hong Kong in the early 20th century. Audiences will adore acclaimed Belgian-Colombian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s original ballet Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon created for HKB, which celebrates the complex life of the 20th century’s most intriguing fashion designer. With lavish staging by the celebrated Vladimir Malakhov after Marius Petipa, La Bayadère, an iconic 19th century Russian ballet set in ancient India’s jungles, concludes our dynamic 2022/23 Season.
