Drop-ins, Manuals, The Kick Turn, The Tic-Tac, Ollie – while the average Joe may not be familiar with these terms, they’re surely what make skateboarders tick! On November 13 and 14, Lee Garden ONE driveway and pavement, as well as Pak Sha Road, will host the first-ever Lee Gardens Skateboard Fest 2021 featuring a range of street skateboarding activities, a competition between pros, Fingerboard workshops, a skateboard shop pop-up, street performances plus food trucks for a hip and happening weekend!
Thanks to its prominence in this year’s Summer Games, skateboarding is no longer just an underground sport. Over the past decade, skateboarding has been steadily growing in Hong Kong’s streets, industrial buildings, parks and more. So there’s no better time to give this sport of speed, technique and nerve a go.
Lee Gardens Association has stayed abreast of city happenings with diversity at its core. The Lee Gardens Skateboard Fest 2021 hopes to inject a passion for the sport and its culture into the streets of Causeway Bay; it’s done with the support of Hysan Development and in partnership with All Hong Kong Skateboards Association and KELY Support Group, which aims to “empower young people to reach their full potential”.
The Lee Gardens Skateboard Fest 2021 will be held on November 13 – 14 and will feature a myriad skateboard-themed activities for all ages. These include:
- 16 Pros go neck-to-neck at the Skateboarding Contest at Pak Sha Road on November 13
- Hosted by AHKSA|Charity Skateboard Experience Classes for beginners and all: Feel the Skateboarding Culture while supporting local charity at the same time
- Pump up the Weekend with 8FIVE2 skateboard pop-up and street food delicacies!
