1. Can you share your journey from being a radio anchor in Canada to becoming a prominent multi-media artist and host in Hong Kong? What were some pivotal moments along the way?

I started my journey at 16 in Canada, joining a DJ competition and getting trained at a radio station. A key moment was when my mentor moved back to Hong Kong. At 22, I returned and reconnected with them, landing a program assistant role before becoming a DJ. Early on, I realized my strengths—organization and speaking—which guided my career. Luck played a big part, especially meeting the right people at the right time. Those moments shaped my path into multimedia hosting and entertainment, which I still do today.
2. Having lived in both Hong Kong and Canada, how have these diverse cultural experiences shaped your work, particularly in your roles as a mentor and educator?

Growing up in Hong Kong’s fast-paced culture, every minute was packed—leaving little room for reflection. But in Canada, I experienced a slower rhythm—chatting with bank tellers, cashiers, or even riding elevators without rushing. That space allowed me to think, daydream, and grow. Now, as a mentor and educator, I value this contrast deeply. Hong Kong’s intensity taught me efficiency, while Canada’s calm taught me the power of mental space—something many Hong Kong kids lack. I strive to bring that balance into my work, encouraging reflection and self-discovery.
3. As a producer and host of the “Super Daddy” series, what key messages do you hope to convey to parents and children through your programming?

Through Super Daddy, I want to show parents that raising kids doesn’t require yelling or punishment—there are proven, structured methods to handle most challenges. My second goal is to empower fathers—parenting isn’t just a mother’s role. Dads can step up beyond just providing financially and take active responsibility in nurturing and discipline. The series encourages modern dads to share the load at home, breaking stereotypes while acknowledging moms’ hard work. Ultimately, I hope to inspire a new generation of involved, mindful parenting—where both parents lead with patience and purpose.
4. How has being trilingual influenced your career in media and communications? Do you find that it opens up different opportunities or audiences for your work?

Being multilingual has been invaluable in my media career. Though English was my first language, I learned Cantonese at 4 and later dedicated two years to intensive Mandarin training with a tutor. This trilingual ability allows me to connect with diverse audiences and access more opportunities, especially as an emcee. While I may not be perfectly fluent, the conscious effort to master these languages demonstrates how skill development – in any area – creates professional advantages by expanding one’s capabilities and marketability in the communications field.
5. What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your various roles, from being a DJ to a producer and counselor, and how have you overcome them?

The toughest challenge in my diverse career—from DJ to producer to counselor—has been constantly starting from scratch. Launching my radio career in Canada, breaking into TV as an unknown, and building the Super Daddy project all required pushing through that difficult initial phase with no reputation or guarantees. Growing a parenting community from 3,000 to 100,000 followers was painstaking work. But I’ve learned to embrace this process—our rapidly evolving world demands it. While the journey is long before seeing results, the eventual payoff makes the struggle worthwhile.
6. Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for your projects in early childhood education and financial literacy for children? How do you envision making an impact in these areas?

My goal is to make early childhood education and financial literacy accessible to all parents. I want to simplify these subjects—you don’t need to be an expert to teach your kids about character-building, life skills or money management. Through practical content on social media featuring real-life examples from my family, I aim to show parents how to incorporate these lessons daily. By empowering families with basic, actionable knowledge, I believe we can create happier homes and, ultimately, a more harmonious society.
