This August JIS welcome Mr Joshua Blue as the new school principal of International Section. Mr Blue is returning to JIS as the Principal after developing his career in ESF Kennedy School and also Discovery College. He looks forward to working with the JIS community and getting to know the staff and students.

An experienced international educator, Teresa has taught in three International Baccalaureate programmes, contributes regularly to IB curriculum development, participates in IB and Council of International School (CIS) authorisation school visits, and leads educator workshops on topics such as Approaches to Learning. Teresa believes that great learning experiences should support each child to know themselves, understand the world, and be joyful, successful and contributing global citizens.

Principal of the Year – All-through – Christine Greenberg, The Harbour School Hong Kong

Christine Greenberg is the Prep and Primary Principal of The Harbour School in Hong Kong. Before joining the THS faculty in 2009, Christine worked in schools as a teacher and educational consultant. She completed her graduate studies as a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in the field of Special Education where she was the recipient of the annual scholarship from the Department of Health and Behavior Studies in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research and professional interests include progressively inclusive education.

 

Teacher of the Year – Laura Whiting, Malvern College Hong Kong

As a Music teacher, Laura Whiting is a sole creator and developer of the music curriculum. Responsible for supporting class performances; graduation ceremonies and choir rehearsals and competitions.
