This week we chatted to Vivian, a hat designer mompreneur who graduated from Central St Martins and founded her hat company, Leely Style. She shares with us how she lives a ritzy lifestyle and how she recovered from the postnatal depression.
I want to show my children I am not afraid of failing, but I know the one thing I might regret is not trying.
1. Could you tell me a bit about yourself and your background?
I am a mompreneur with 2 lovely boys, Preston is 4 and Leighton is 2. I love art, painting and doing hand crafts. After graduating from Central St Martins in London, I saw the opportunities in HK and started my own brand Leely Style. I believe colour is a powerful communication tool and it’s the best way to express myself.
2. What inspired you to start your Instagram page in sharing parenting tips?
I was suffering with postnatal depression after having my first baby, and I needed a way to express my feelings, therefore, I started to share my stories and parenting tips. I wanted to share my positive thoughts and help other women to overcome the difficult time.
3. Tell us more about your business?
My own brand Leely Style evokes the elegance, sophistication, femininity and poise of the 21st century woman. Our accessories are designed and fabricated by hand locally in our studio ensuring the highest quality product. Our production team only makes what we need, and no more, at the end of each year our obsolete inventory usually fits in one box. We believe in a long life for fashion and want our customers to cherish each design for many years.
4. What advice do you have for the Moms who want to be a mompreneur?
Big business starts small, just try it and make it happen. I want to show my children I am not afraid of failing, but I know the one thing I might regret is not trying.
5. How do you make yourself happy and ritzy in life?
Just go with the flow, it’s best to take the world as you find it, appreciate yourself and smile, when you’re happy with yourself everyone else around you can feel the happiness.
