A digitally-native, female-led marketing agency in Hong Kong, Social Baos was founded with the aim of helping businesses position their brand and connect with their audience in a meaningful way. This year for Valentine’s Day, the agency has branched out to create its first product, an interactive product for 2022.
Founders Lavisha and Rajvi have quite the international background. Born and raised in Hong Kong and educated in Boston, Lavisha worked in digital marketing and pursued fashion before deciding to start something of her own. Rajvi, meanwhile, was born and raised in Japan, educated in New York and worked in marketing in boutique hotels around the world, including Ovolo Hotels in Hong Kong.
“We love exploring, whether it’s new bars, restaurants, travel locations, stores. We discovered that many of the independent small to medium-sized businesses didn’t have a strong social media presence and there was a lot of opportunities for them to connect with followers and share their stories,” the founders explain the origins of Social Baos. “Additionally, being in New York and Boston, and having worked there, we really wanted to bring that creativity and out-of-the-box concept back here to help brands build an authentic, personable relationship with their followers, and all within their budget.”
Indeed, a scroll through Social Baos’ website and social media showcases its expertise in the area of digital marketing. From quick tips (“how to make use of social media during lockdown”) to useful information (“how did social media bring about the quick boom-and-bust culture?”), you’re bound to discover and learn something new.
The 2022 Planner is Social Baos’ first project. It has an annual calendar view; monthly spreads including top priorities and affirmations; weekly dashboards including priorities, mood, peak and pitfalls, habits and even a venting section; quarterly goal reviews; tips, tricks, quizzes, self-care checklist, coffee shop ratings, sudoku, doodle pages, shower thoughts, what-ifs and more. The planner, Lavisha and Rajvi hope, will become your lifesaver, best friend or even therapist.
After experiencing the success of the 2022 Planner, the founders are looking to launch more products in the health and wellness space. As an agency, they will also be holding their first workshop at Team Concepts and want to continue doing this by partnering with local businesses to conduct workshops related to social media.
Lastly, Social Baos has begun to work on more branding projects. “Our aim is to shift into becoming a one-stop-shop and provide additional services such as SEM/SEO and website development.”
Going forward, Lavisha and Rajvi hope to continue growing and branch out to businesses in different industries. To achieve this, they are expanding their team, hosting more workshops and collaborating with local businesses to host a variety of pop-ups where different brands can come together and promote one another.
“Finally, by the end of the year, we are hoping to expand and provide our services internationally, starting with Mumbai.”
