Founded in 2020, Hiu Cha is a Hong Kong tea business that merges Chinese traditional culture with a fancy, high-end lifestyle. Hiu Suet hopes that when people shop at Hiu Cha, tea is no longer an old school culture, but instead something new, something modern and innovative.

Hiu Suet, an actress who majored in Philosophy and minored in Film Studies in school, finds inspiration for her brand through her life experiences. She was also brought up in a family which ran a tea business, hence her knowledge and initial interest in the industry.

As for teas, Hiu Suet recommends oolong tea, especially Tieguanyin (Iron goddess) and Dahongpao Rock Tea, which she shares are her favourite types.

“Tieguanyin (Iron goddess) offers an orchid aroma, a ladylike, very gentle and soft tone. You can feel the aroma in and out when you breathe through your mouth. I always start my day with this tea.”

Looking forward, Hiu Suet hopes to expand the Hiu Cha brand globally, offering a new and fresh way for western countries to experience Chinese tea culture. Locally, Hiu Cha will be doing more collaborations with Hong Kong brands, F&B concepts and hotels.
