Launched in 2010, Metro Workspace by Metropolitan Lifestyle Group is a collection of coworking spaces aimed at freelancers, entrepreneurs, small and mid-sized companies and corporates. Its ever-expanding portfolio features eight locations across the city, and today, we will be focusing on the Wong Chuk Hang branch.

Located directly across from Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station and just 14 minutes away from Admiralty, Metro Workspace’s Wong Chuk Hang offshoot is named The Urban Woods. Its design is instantly recognisable, inspired by the industrial heritage of the neighbourhood. Fitted with a woodland-themed layout, the workspace showcases high ceilings, steel accents, open spaces, and bright, airy offices.
One major benefit to those who are situated at The Urban Woods is that it is pet-friendly. Having pets in the workplace is proven to affect work-life balance positively and improve office morale. Both employers and employees have stated that being around pets makes them happier, lowers stress levels and creates a more comfortable working environment.
Most importantly, our furry friends bring about little distractions and comic relief that allow mental breaks – a necessity to avoid stress and burnout.
The Urban Woods has also collaborated with Hello Dog, Hong Kong’s go-to guide for pet parenting, recently, to organise pet-related events in the workspace. Examples include the Pet Christmas Market in Wong Chuk Hang and multiple giveaways through Instagram, advocating the importance of a pet-friendly workplace.
