It’s officially summer – which means more freedom for the kids! To keep the little ones occupied and to help them make the best of their school break, a number of schools and institutes are offering summer camps. From arts, to STEM, to sports, here are our favourite camps this holiday season.
ESF Sports & Language Summer Camps
ESF offers a range of full or half-day camps for your flexibility, from categories such as sports, language, arts, STEM, workshops and online courses. Kids from six months to 18 years, whether they attend an ESF school or not, are welcome.
Full Day Camps will engage children in multi-disciplinary class activities in the classrooms in the morning to strengthen Language efficiency; and during the afternoon, they will be emerged in a range of sports games. This year’s highlight is the Planet Guardian Adventure, a Full Day Camp of four weeks of exciting quests, where students will embark on an exciting new adventure each week to meet a range of colourful characters such as Super Heroes, Fantasy Explorers and Treasure Seekers, etc. This course involves drama, games, storybooks and art to develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills whilst broadening knowledge and experiences.
Of course, ESF also provides its signature multi-sports and single sports camps too, which include Swimming, Football, Tennis, Gymnastics, Fencing Clinics and more. This option is great for developing children’s sporting skills through play, developmental games and game-based sports.
The Harbour School
The Harbour School (THS) has just announced its Fully Immersive Scholar’s Holiday (F.I.S.H.) courses for summer 2022. These courses offer a deep dive into new and fascinating topics over school holiday breaks and are led by the school’s expert specialists, experienced faculty and trusted partners.
Topics that you can choose from include marine science, sailing, horseback riding, aviation, woodworking, biking, emotional regulation, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, coding and more. F.I.S.H. courses are open to all Hong Kong students and are taught using active learning approaches to real-world issues, allowing children to have fun while developing full understanding of a topic. Camps start from June 20 to July 25, 2022, and are open to ages four to 18. Perhaps what’s most unique about THS’ summer camps is that students are able to utilise the school’s unique facilities during different courses, such as it’s Marine Science Center, 50ft sailboat, and makerspace.
