This week we chatted to Nisha from Nepal, who starts her own Youtube channel and likes sharing her life in Hong Kong.
I don’t do my work to get external validation. The number of likes or followers I get – that doesn’t make me happy. If I find satisfaction in what I have done, I am happy
1. Could you tell me a bit about yourself and your background?
My story starts in a small city in Nepal called Dharan. I have spent most of my life in Nepal hoping and dreaming to be able to explore the world through my work. I was always a kid, who believed in magic, dreams and hope. On a happy day, I eat and on a blue day, I eat a lot. Food and music is a big part of my life.
2. What encouraged you to create your Instagram and YouTube channel?
I think seeing beautiful and powerful women on Instagram and YouTube inspired me to start creating my content. I love the work of Iluvsarahii and Malvika Sitlani.
3. Where do you go to find inspiration?
I take inspiration from everywhere – the colors of the buildings, the patterns hidden in mother nature, the color combinations of sunsets. For my Instagram work, it’s mostly influenced by Bollywood – growing up in Nepal – we loved watching Indian dramas and movies. On the top of it, I also try to stay true to my roots and add that Nepali touch to my photos.
4. How do you make yourself happy and ritzy in life?
The hustle and grind of managing to be able to do my work with a 9-6 job makes me so happy. The satisfaction I get after finishing my shoot is unspeakable. I don’t do my work to get external validation. The number of likes or followers I get – that doesn’t make me happy. If I find satisfaction in what I have done, I am happy.
