1. Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
Answer: I am a Chinese radio personality in Singapore who also hosts a TV show, acts, and occasionally sings. I began my career in 2001, long before I graduated from university. The nature of my job has exposed me to many aspects of life, and now I’m proud to be a wine enthusiast and a certified sommelier.
2. How did you get into radio?
Answer: Stepping into the world of radio was a complete accident. A friend wanted to participate in a DJ competition, and as their companion, I ended up entering as well. Surprisingly, I reached the finals and eventually won the competition. This led to a part-time contract, steering my life onto a new path. I’ve always been the master of ceremonies during my school days, so I guess I was destined for this career.

4. Can you recommend a must-try dish in Singapore?
Answer: If you haven’t tried it yet, Fuzhou Oyster Cake is a must when you’re in Singapore! I recommend visiting Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake at Maxwell Food Market. The crispy batter crust holds juicy minced pork, oyster, prawn, and coriander inside—it’s delicious!
5. How do you unwind?
Answer: I like to wind down with a couple of neat whisky shots. I enjoy playing board games with my family or a few rounds of my favorite card game, “Flesh and Blood,” which really pumps up my adrenaline. Competitive games keep the fire in me alive!
