This week we chatted with Ava Liu, Actress and Founder of Ava Liu Store. Starting her career with participating in well know movies in Hong Kong, Ava Liu became a name that’s familiar to Hong Kong People. Her persistence and seriousness on her work make her store one of the most trusted platform for local brands and consumer to get their daily beauty and healthy products.
It is until I have become a mother, my judgment slowly turns to understanding and compassion.
1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I’ve been an actress/singer/YouTuber/beauty business owner for 12 years and I’m mainly a full time mom now, with everything still going on just at a slower pace.
2. How do you balance your work and family life?
I always need my 30min quiet time, alone, in the morning, planning out the day and praying about that. It’s so important for me to clear my mind and make a productive schedule especially on Mondays, because being a “slasher” since 2008 means discipline and efficiency to me,there’s nobody telling me what to do or when to finish it. Perhaps I was not working with the right people in my early career ( It make sense right? The word YouTuber didn’t even exist at that time!) I slowly became a harsh and judgemental person, sometimes overly demanding. It is until I have become a mother, my judgment slowly turns to understanding and compassion. This applies to my roles as mother and entrepreneur.
3. What is your daily beauty routine?
As a beauty business owner, I need to try different skincare products on my own face before recommending them to my audience, so I use a wide range of products. I always use a cleanser for a starter, then I will massage serum on my face and end the routine with a cream. But definitely sunscreen is a must for any days year round!
4. How do you make yourself happy and ritzy in life?
As a Christian, there’s nothing better than praying, worshiping and getting together with my brothers and sisters from my fellowship small group. ( But a soothing massage or a spa works really well for me too)
5. Could you share the most memorable moment of you and your baby girl ?
I would say every moment but if I have to pick one, it has to be the first time I breast fed her, it was so magical and it was the first time I truly felt how wonderful and miraculous humans were made by God.
