Ritzy’s monthly update of school news introduce some interesting extra curricular activities hold by different international schools including Wycombe Abby School Hong Kong, ICHK Hong Lok Yuen Kindergarten and Primary, and Hong Kong Academy. Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong

In Year 4 Maths lessons last week, the children had taken part in lots of engaging activities to enthuse them about our new unit all about fractions. Students needed to progress at their own pace while being stretched and challenged at the same time. Children used multi-link cubes, numicon, counters and dice to support with their learning.


German Swiss International School Hong Kong

From now until 10 March 2023, our students can learn about European history through a comic exhibition organised by the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the cultural center la Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image. Showcased in the reception foyer of the Peak campus Lower Building, the exhibition highlights critical events such as the first declaration by Robert Schuman in 1950, the first European rocket launch into space, and the recent agreement on the Recovery plan for Europe in 2020 🌍🇪🇺. Australian International School Hong Kong – Jump Jam

With the commencement of 2023, Friday mornings have jumped back into action on the oval. Jump Jam continues this term with house groups taking on the organisation of the Jump Jam routines on a fortnightly basis. House Leaders and students from each house will decide who leads up the front on behalf of their house and the playlist order. In Australian International School Hong Kong dancing catalogue, they have over ten new Jump Jam songs and routines that were introduced last term by each house. Each house has decided which new song they want to introduce, mixed in with the old favourites, and have been practising the routines to perfection leading up Jump Jam Friday’s. All songs and routines have been made available in video format for students and teachers to learn at any time.


Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong – extra curricular activities

Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong students dived into the music of the 60s and have been exploring the timeless classic “Blackbird” by The Beatles in their music lesson. Through score study and discussion, students were able to understand the profound message behind the lyrics. Their ECA has also started this week and students are able to experience so many different activities after school.


ICHK Hong Lok Yuen Kindergarten and Primary – trip to Victoria Harbour 

Year 2 students from ICHK Hong Lok Yuen went on a trip to Victoria Harbour as part of their unit of inquiry on How We Express Ourselves: Communication. They did some skyline sketching with Ms Long along the waterfront, took the Star Ferry to Central, and then went on the Hong Kong Observation Wheel to get a bird’s eye view of the harbour.


Hong Kong Academy – Visual Art installation

Grade 8 Visual Art students from Hong Kong Academy recently created installation artworks aimed at engaging their audience with a local or global issue. Their pieces and artist statements are now on display around the campus providing thought-provoking content for the community.
