Discovery Montessori Academy believes in engaging language learning experiences. That’s why they are introducing their children to the fascinating world of Chinese characters, where each character tells a story through captivating visuals! Their  dedicated teachers have designed an immersive curriculum that explores these pictographic characters. From the sun, moon, to animals and nature, the kids are confidently recognising and writing.

Happy World Book Day at Shrewsbury International School. Providing high quality literature for students promotes high quality literacy. Providing a purpose built and naturally lit library space like ours ensures it’s always occupied.

 

Australian International School HK

At Australian International School HK, 3-6 students competed in their Athletics Carnival at Tsai Sports Ground today. After a five year break students put their term one athletics training into practice. John van Gaalen, Primary PDHPE Teacher said, “The students had a great time and it was a wonderful way for them to celebrate 11 weeks of hard work in PDHPE classes. The students were able to have a truly authentic performance piece of the like that, due to COVID and last year’s bad weather, they haven’t had the chance to be involved in before. Thank you to everyone who supported the event especially the parents!”

 

The International Montessori School

Casa Dei Bambini children went to ALL SORTS of places for their field trip. From Butterfly Valley to Botanical Gardens, Ocean Park to Hong Kong Park! So long as there was somewhere to explore, our IMS adventurers were there! It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to get in touch with the great outdoors with friends and family, and they sure enjoyed it! Check out some of their favorite moments here!

 

Stamford American School HK

What a perfect day for Secondary Sports Day at Stamford this week! The Stamford community came alive as everyone gave their absolute best to bring glory to their houses. During the Opening Ceremony, we proudly introduced Stamford’s very first House Captains and Vice-Captains, fostering a sense of unity and pride within the houses. Students showcased their incredible sportsmanship, supporting one another with boundless enthusiasm.

At The Harbour School Hong Kong, their Grade 3 students had a blast learning about and making simple machines at the Foundry. They showed their skill and creativity. What a memorable launch to their upcoming Science unit!

Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong

MCPS K1 African Rhino children were all superstars in completing their hike on 13th March. Although some sections of the trail were difficult to walk, the children showed their courage and stamina and clearly demonstrated the Malvern Quality of resilience.They navigated uneven terrain and read the map to make sure we were all going the right way and  Ms Viola & Ms Emma were impressed with everyone’s stamina and determination to reach the beach. Once at the beach, they had a well deserved break and enjoyed snacks by the sea before exploring the beach and sea together. Some children splashed in the sea, while others dug in the sand and looked for treasure!

 

Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong

Two weeks ago, four of NAISHK IB students took part in the opening round of the Academic Challenge Cup hosted by BISN. Rylan H., Mattea B., Jasmine W. and Bronte M. went head-to-head against the British School of Shanghai, Puxi, in four gruelling rounds. It is delighted to say NAISHK incredible team won and went on to face the British School of Nanjing in the semi-final round which took place last week. The stakes were raised in latter round as the team faced four incredible opponents from Nanjing. A further four exceptionally tough rounds on Science, Art and Literature, History and Politics and General Knowledge later ended in a tie! Following a statistical tie-breaker question, NAISHK came out on top, sending its Fab Four to the finals against Chengdu!

 

YCIS Hong Kong

Last week’s Sports Day of the Primary section of YCIS was a true celebration of teamwork, with teachers, students and parents all coming together to make it a memorable event. The day was filled with a variety of exciting activities, including tug of war, sack races, javelin throwing, high jump, hurdling, and even a special parents relay race. The event not only highlighted the athletic talents of its students but also emphasised the importance of sportsmanship, which is not just about winning or losing, but giving your best in every game , displaying integrity and demonstrating respect for one another. It was heartwarming to witness the unity and support among all the participants, which truly embodied the spirit of Sports Day.
