We are delighted to announce the winners of the Ritzy Hong Kong Education Awards, recognizing exceptional achievers, top schools, outstanding principals, and dedicated educators who have made a significant impact on the city’s educational landscape. These awards celebrate their remarkable contributions.

Kindergarten of the Year – Woodland Pre-School

Their mission is simple; they aim to fulfil every child’s unique potential and we do this by following the simple ideal of nothing without joy. Respecting their image of the child and our belief that each child deserves the best for them to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and developmentally, to become great global citizens.

Primary School of the Year – Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong

Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong is part of Nord Anglia Education’s global family of 85+ premium international schools. Founded in Hong Kong in 2014 they have dedicated Early Years and Primary campuses. In August 2021 they opened their brand new Secondary Campus. All campuses follow the curriculum frameworks of EYFS, IGCSE and IBDP.

Secondary School of the Year – Canadian International School of Hong Kong

Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) is a leading “through-train” International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Aberdeen, Hong Kong serving over 1,800 local and expatriate students. Founded as a non-profit organisation in 1991, CDNIS is one of the city’s most well-known and well-respected international schools, also recognized as one of the leading schools in Asia. Offering Early Years to Grade 12 education, CDNIS is fully authorized to deliver the IB Diploma Programme (DP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in addition to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The school is divided into Lower School for Early Years to Gr. 5, and Upper School for Gr. 6-12. Students receive two diplomas upon graduation.

 

All-Through School of the Year – The Harbour School

Hands on Learning is an important aspect of The Harbour School. Children Learn Science are performing experiments, and children learning History are role playing the challenges of earlier times rather than just reading about them. Children at The Harbour School are learning the art of respectful debate so that they feel safe and valued when exposing new ideas while thoughtfully considering the ideas of others. They also have strong exposure to alternative types of expression including creative writing, drama, dance, music, and visual arts.

 

Special Education School of the Year – The Jockey Club Hong Chi School

The school is operating under Hong Chi Association.  It was established in September 1981.  The school is a special school providing education services to children with moderate intellectual disability at the age of 6 to 18. Students are allocated to groups according to age and learning ability. The vision of the school is “Be committed to providing quality special education services, so that each graduate can be self-reliant, independent and confident in transition to adult life”.

 

Principal of the Year – Kindergarten – Virginia Hunt (Hong Kong Academy)

Most anticipated Principal of the Year – Maria Gebrial (Head of Prep Principal Malvern College Hong Kong)

Head of School of the Year – Timothy Kaiser (Canadian Interntaional School of Hong Kong)

Principal of the Year – All-through – Kenny Duncan (Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong)

Teacher of the Year – Rhena Bowie (Hong Kong Academy)

Hong Kong International School of the Year – Hong Kong Acacdemy

Hong Kong Academy is a non-profit international through-train school located in Sai Kung in the New Territories. Founded in 2000, they are in the third decade of providing joyful, dynamic and rigorous education to children ages 3 to 18.  They value how children learn as well as what they learn, and their teachers provide rich and engaging opportunities for every individual to discover their passions, pursue their interests and contribute to their communities.
